Chapters Community Arts CIC is a not-for-profit organisation, and we depend on the support of our community to achieve our aims and make a difference in the lives of local people.

Donate Books

Donate Financially

Being involved in helping us deliver our community arts programme can be both interesting and great fun. We have lots of opportunities for volunteers, including:

helping in the bookshop;
helping to run Chapters Unplugged;
assisting with author events;
supporting evening activities such as out book club and Quiet Writing group;
and helping with the many other activities and events that make up our calendar.

Our volunteer programme is not simply about helping us deliver our community arts activities. We want volunteering with Chapters to be a meaningful, enjoyable and rewarding experience for everyone who gets involved.

Although our bookshop primarily sells new books, we also sell used books, many of which have been generously donated by our supporters. Every penny from the sale of donated books goes towards our community arts programme.

We welcome most book donations, with the exception of textbooks and educational books. Any donated books that we are unable to sell through the shop are passed on to other charities wherever possible.

We accept popular fiction, crime fiction, biographies and non-fiction and are always on the lookout for literary fictions, especially award winning including Booker, Pulitzer, Women's price listed.

While our book sales are largely self-financing, much of our community arts programme is not. Financial support enables us not only to maintain our existing programme but also to develop new activities and, in particular, to reach people who may have fewer opportunities or less income.

It is very simple to make a financial donation to Chapters Community Arts. You can donate directly by clicking on the image above, or, if you would prefer to make a cash donation, please place it in a sealed envelope and hand it personally to a member of staff at Chapters Coffee & Books. Please clearly mark the envelope “Donation to Chapters Community Arts CIC”.

Every donation, however large or small, helps us to continue what we do.
