Projects

We run a range of events, groups, and workshops across the year. Between writing groups, music gigs, book clubs, and author events, we've always got something going on, and - knowing us - at least three other things in the works!

As a bookshop, we have a particular focus on anything that promotes literacy and an interest in books, but our work has been expanding to include music, art, and crafts.

Chapters Unplugged

We run regular music gigs, across a range of styles, from new local musicians to well-known names.

As a small venue, we particularly favour acoustic and folk musicians, but our line-up is always changing.

Supporting Writers

Without writers there are no readers! We support local writers, of all levels and ages, by providing courses, a writers library and by offering space to quietly work on your next project, We aim to be a place for writers to meet, chat, and - most importantly - write!

Book Clubs

We have an amazing range of book clubs running on a regular basis.

These include our all-age book club, cassics book vlub, Chapter Twenty-Something alongside a Silent Book Club and 2 of our local U3A book clubs.

Author Events

We host a range of book launches, signings, and talks with authors. Our connections with the Canterbury Children's Literature Festival have often led us to focus on children's authors, but we're keen on covering a wider range of genres as we continue to grow.

Knit and Natter

The most popular of the external events which we host, our Knit and Natter group adds a lovely bubble of chatter to Saturday mornings in Chapters. Events like this are a big part of building the community hub we hope to become.
